Terms and Conditions for Direct Fix Installations

Welcome to Direct Fix Installations. These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of our services.

By accessing our website or engaging our services, we assume you accept these terms and conditions in full. Do not continue to use Direct Fix Installations' services if you do not accept all of the terms and conditions stated on this page.

1. Definitions

The following terminology applies to these Terms and Conditions, Privacy Statement and any or all Agreements: "Client", "You" and "Your" refers to you, the person accessing this website and accepting the Company's terms and conditions. "The Company", "Ourselves", "We", "Our" and "Us", refers to Direct Fix Installations. "Party", "Parties", or "Us", refers to both the Client and ourselves, or either the Client or ourselves.

2. Services

Direct Fix Installations provides kitchen installations, bathroom installations, carpentry services, and general home improvement services as described on our website and in our quotations.

All services are subject to availability and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at our discretion.

3. Quotations and Acceptance

All quotations provided by Direct Fix Installations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated.

Acceptance of a quotation constitutes an agreement between the Client and Direct Fix Installations, subject to these terms and conditions.

We reserve the right to revise a quotation if:

  • The Client requests changes to the original specification
  • Additional work is required that was not apparent at the time of providing the quotation
  • There are increases in the cost of materials or labor that were not foreseeable at the time of quotation

4. Payment Terms

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, our payment terms are as follows:

  • A deposit of 30% of the total quotation is required before work commences
  • For projects lasting more than one week, interim payments may be required as work progresses
  • The final balance is due upon completion of the work

Payment can be made by bank transfer, credit/debit card, or cash. We do not accept checks unless by prior arrangement.

If payment is not received according to these terms, we reserve the right to:

  • Suspend or terminate the provision of services
  • Charge interest on overdue amounts at a rate of 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate
  • Recover all costs incurred in collecting overdue payments

5. Cancellation and Rescheduling

If you wish to cancel or reschedule a confirmed booking, the following terms apply:

  • Cancellation more than 14 days before the scheduled start date: Full refund of any deposit paid
  • Cancellation between 7-14 days before the scheduled start date: 50% of the deposit will be refunded
  • Cancellation less than 7 days before the scheduled start date: No refund of deposit

Direct Fix Installations reserves the right to reschedule work due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to adverse weather conditions, illness, or material supply issues. In such cases, we will provide as much notice as possible and reschedule at the earliest convenient time for both parties.

6. Warranties and Guarantees

All workmanship is guaranteed for a period of 12 months from the date of completion, subject to proper use and maintenance.

Manufacturer warranties for materials and appliances are passed on to the client in full, but we do not extend or enhance these warranties.

Our guarantee does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or normal wear and tear
  • Issues arising from alterations made by third parties after completion
  • Problems caused by structural or pre-existing property issues not apparent at the time of quotation

To claim under our workmanship guarantee, please contact us promptly upon discovering any issues.

7. Client Responsibilities

The Client agrees to:

  • Provide reasonable access to the property during agreed working hours
  • Ensure the work area is clear of personal belongings where possible
  • Make necessary arrangements for water, electricity, and toilet facilities to be available for our use during the work
  • Inform us of any special conditions or requirements before work commences
  • Make timely decisions when required to prevent delays

8. Limitation of Liability

Direct Fix Installations' liability is limited to the value of the work undertaken. We are not liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential losses arising from our work
  • Delays caused by factors beyond our reasonable control
  • Damage to items not removed from the work area
  • Issues arising from pre-existing property defects not apparent at the time of quotation

Nothing in these terms shall limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

9. Intellectual Property

All designs, drawings, specifications, and documents produced by Direct Fix Installations remain our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed in writing.

We reserve the right to use photographs of completed work for marketing purposes, unless you specifically request otherwise in writing.

10. Complaints Procedure

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, please contact us immediately. We aim to resolve all complaints promptly and fairly.

Complaints should be made in writing to info@directfixinstallations.com or by post to our registered address.

11. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, and any disputes relating to these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on our website and will be effective immediately. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically.
